ORGANIC COTTON 200TC PERCALE PRINTED SHEET SET - FOLIAGE
Details
This is the most unconventional print in the range — and deliberately, brilliantly so. It makes no concession to the expected language of bedding design: no florals, no botanicals arranged in graceful trails, no safe neutrals. Instead, it plants its flag firmly in the territory of mid-twentieth century modernist textile art, and it does so with considerable conviction.
The design is an all-over abstract composition of large, irregular organic forms — rounded, biomorphic shapes that recall the vocabulary of 1950s and 1960s studio textiles.
The colour handling is genuinely complex. Warm amber and golden ochre sit alongside cool teal and aqua; dusty rose and blush appear beside olive green and warm brown; charcoal and near-black anchor the composition and prevent it from feeling diffuse. No single colour dominates. The palette reads as earthy and painterly simultaneously — the kind of colour story that works across different interior schemes without belonging definitively to any one of them.
A particularly interesting technical detail: each colour block carries a visible crosshatch or linen-weave texture within it, as though the shapes were filled not with flat pigment but with a hatched pencil or a coarsely woven cloth.
Scattered throughout the composition are loose, sketched leaf outlines — drawn in a quick, gestural hand — that provide the only naturalistic reference in an otherwise entirely abstract design.
On 200 TC percale, the print's boldness would be carried with characteristic crispness. This is a sheet set for someone whose bedroom is not trying to be a sanctuary of beige.
